Coppin Chapel Update
I am writing this article at 9 a.m. on Monday morning. Just 24 hours ago I went before our congregation to tell you that we would only be able to give $6300.00 to our brothers and sisters in Christ at Coppin Chapel. This morning that amount changed dramatically. The check I will be taking to them is for over $12,000.00. I am truly overwhelmed. Greenfield Christian Church is a really special place.
I hope everyone in this congregation will take a few minutes to just sit back and enjoy what you have done. When Christ said “Ask and you shall receive”, He must have had this church in mind. It is amazing what happens when we are focused on Christ’s mission. It is amazing what happens when we make a conscious decision to be His body in the world. Normally I have a lot more to say in these articles but today I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is an honor and a privilege to be your pastor. God bless you all as you continue to live The Great Commandment and accept The Great Commission. \

During my recent vacation I decided to catch up on some scripture reading. On the first day I turned to the book of Jonah and never got beyond it. There was something in this scripture that just called out to me. Every time I would open my bible I would find myself going back to Jonah. I was captivated by Jonah’s willful resistance to God’s call. I was overwhelmed with God’s profound grace offered to the enemies of Israel. I identified deeply with Jonah’s desire to stay in his comfort zone and leave the difficult stuff for someone else.
